The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a body corporate with academic, financial and administrative autonomy, was established in 1961. Currently GIMPA does not only serve as a world class Center of Excellence for training in Leadership, Business Management and Public Administration, but is the leading management development institution in Ghana and, also the leading institution in Africa for leadership training. GIMPA also provides a forum for discussion and resolution of important issues.
Location
The Institute is located some thirteen kilometer north Accra, and is housed on a 150 acres high ground at Greenhill, off the Achimota - Legon road and within a stone's throw of the University of Ghana. Greenhill with its white buildings and surrounded by green vegetation and the Achimota Forest Reserve, is a spot of striking and restful scenic beauty. On clear days it commands in one long panoramic sweep, a view embracing the University of Ghana undulating Accra Plains in the background, the International Airport, the plush West lands Residential hills of the Akwapim Range.GIMPA offers a number of regular Training Programs for the management development needs of organizations from the public and private sectors as well as NGO's
A highly regarded institution
GIMPA is a leading school in Leadership, Management and Administration in Ghana. It is an associate member of the Association of African Universities (MU). It collaborates with local and international institutions such as the University of North Texas, USA, The Netherlands Institute of Social Studies (lSS), The Hague, and the Multimedia University of Malaysia. It is a member of the African Virtual University IAVU) and African Association for Public Administration and Management (MPAM).
GIMPA’s courses are designed to cover three main areas - the core or career progressions; functional; and in-plant or especially tailor-made courses. GIMPA’s courses are organized by various specialized departments and schools.
